Eastern redbud is a native understory tree commonly used in wildlife habitat plantings, forest edges, and conservation landscapes. Growing 25 to 35 feet tall, it is known for its showy pink spring flowers, which provide an early-season source of nectar and pollen for pollinators. Adapted to a variety of sites, including woodland edges and former agricultural lands, redbud also provides food and cover for wildlife while adding seasonal interest to conservation plantings.
