Bald cypress is a long-lived native tree commonly used in riparian buffer plantings, wetland restoration projects, and other conservation applications. Adapted to saturated soils and seasonal flooding, it is frequently found along streams, rivers, and wetlands throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Its ability to stabilize soils, improve water quality, and provide habitat for wildlife makes it a valuable species for restoration and stewardship projects.
