Buttonbush is a native shrub commonly used in wetland restoration, riparian buffer plantings, and other conservation projects on moist to saturated sites. Typically growing 3 to 8 feet tall, it produces distinctive flowers that attract a wide variety of pollinators, while its seeds serve as an important food source for waterfowl and other birds. Buttonbush performs best when planted along the edges of ponds, wetlands, streams, and other aquatic habitats.
